What is the Water Future Fund?

As we enter a new phase for Mass Rivers and in order to face the challenges that lie ahead, we are looking to raise $1.3M to fulfill our bold agenda for rivers and water, and bring to life the goals we’ve set in our 2025-2030 roadmap. These funds will fuel critical initiatives, sustain our growth, and amplify our reach at a time when our leadership is urgently needed.

Why Now?

This is a critical time for water in Massachusetts. More intense and frequent droughts, water supply emergencies, wildfires, floods, and large sewage discharges into rivers and the ocean threaten the health of our rivers and water supplies. At a time when national environmental safeguards are under threat, our work at the state level is more needed than ever.

Why Us?

Mass Rivers is uniquely positioned to meet this moment. We are the only statewide organization focused exclusively on the health of our rivers.

We have built a record of achievement and strong partnerships leading statewide river advocacy. Harnessing the strength of our alliance, we have played a crucial role in bringing unprecedented levels of resources to our rivers, catalyzing change, and increasing the capacity of our members and allies. We bring people, science, and policy together to protect the waters that protect us

Deerfield River

Over the last 17 years, Mass Rivers has...

Why You?

Whether it’s the river behind your childhood home, your favorite fishing spot, or the stream that supplies your town’s drinking water - your local river is part of a bigger story. Every river should be an asset to its community, and by protecting all rivers, we protect your river, its wildlife, your drinking water, and river recreation too.

Mary Griffin

I support the Water Future Fund because it is an investment in clean rivers and water for wildlife biodiversity, heathy outdoor recreation opportunities for all, and for our children and grandchildren’s future.  Mass Rivers Alliance has a proven track record of making a difference and deserves our support.
