About the event

Please join us for our (virtual, of course) Annual Celebration this year!

While we will miss seeing you in person this year, we hope to see you on Zoom on December 2, at 7:30pm, as we bring together our friends and colleagues to celebrate the rivers and the year's achievements.

The hour-long event will feature a conversation with Boston Globe environmental reporter David Abel, news about recent progress we’ve made to protect and restore rivers, a preview of next year's plans, a new video - and a canoe raffle, courtesy of our friends at Paddle Boston! (You do not need to be present to win, but you must be in the Boston Metro area for delivery or willing to pick the canoe up.)

Guest speaker: Reporter and Filmmaker David Abel

An award-winning reporter on the Globe staff since 1999, David Abel has covered war in the Balkans, unrest in Latin America, national security issues in Washington D.C., terrorism in New York and Boston, and climate change and poverty in New England. Abel, also a documentary filmmaker and an occasional professor of journalism, was part of the team that won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News for the paper’s coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings. He now covers the environment for the Globe.
